Position at Child Advocates: Team Leader/Advocacy Coordinator

Five key job responsibilities: (1) supervise a team of advocacy coordinators (2) supervise court appointed volunteer advocates in their role as Guardian ad litem (3) participate in the interview process for advocacy coordinator candidates (4) train new volunteers through Advocacy University (5) maintain effective working relationships with CPS, the courts, attorneys, law enforcement, medical professionals and various community resources.

The best thing about my job is...
"... witnessing the bond between a volunteer advocate and the child/children they serve."

My coworkers make me...
"... feel at home when I am at work and always inspire me to continue to work in the fight against child abuse."

My mountaintop Child Advocates experience...
"… I recently finished working on a case in which the final outcome was reunification of two young girls with their mother. Although it appeared to my volunteer and I that all odds were against this mother who was battling an addiction, had been a victim of domestic violence and had also been abused as a young girl, she amazed everyone involved in the case. Without missing a beat, she immediately entered in-patient substance abuse treatment upon having her daughters removed from her care. She successfully completed 6 months of treatment while also setting out to finish everything that CPS required of her. Due to her determination and ability to demonstrate that she could be a responsible mother to her daughters, they were returned to her care earlier this year. Seeing her overcoming all odds and becoming such a good mother to her children made me proud of her and thankful that my volunteer and I were able to support and encourage her through a very difficult journey."
