ABOUT THE HONOREE: Rose Cullen
Rosanette Saragusa Cullen is a native Houstonian. After spending her early years attending Catholic schools , she graduated from St. Agnes Academy and the University of Houston. Deeply devoted to her alma maters she continues to stay very active with both. She has served on both Alumni Boards and has chaired several successful events for both schools .

Called "Rose" by most, her interest in and love for the city of Houston, has led her to served on many boards, including her most current commitments with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Bayou Bend, and Rienzi. For years she has not only enjoyed attending the Houston Ballet but also served on the Houston Ballet Board. Early on, Rose realized the importance of having the best nursing care so she joined the Board of Nursing for St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. She has also served on the St. Luke's Capital Campaign. And because Rose believes that the best of hospital care is what continues to make this city great, she just recently joined the Harris County Hospital District Board of Directors.

Rose's family is a very important part of her life. She is dedicated to her son Harry Cullen, Jr. and his wife Katie, her daughter Katherine Cullen McCord and her husband Jody, and her six grandchildren. They spend time together at their ranch, the Buena Vista Ranch on the Laguna Madre, and their home in New Braunfels, Texas on the Comal River. She believes that the best of times are spent close to her family nurturing, caring, and watching her children and grandchildren as they grow to be fine caring adults. Now they are following the footsteps of their parents and grandparents, who have instilled in them by example the value that working together to care for family and community is the key to success.

All Houstonians are fortunate to have such caring people as Rose and her family working together with Child Advocates to break the vicious cycle of child abuse in our great city.
