Volunteer with Child Advocates

The Friends of Child Advocates is a vibrant group of volunteers who serve as a fundraising arm and volunteer base for our many special events.

There are several levels of Friends membership available:

Active Membership

• Cost - $50 per year
• Commitment - We ask that you are active on one of our committees (includes membership, fundraising events and children's events)

• Cost - $100 per year
• Commitment - We ask that you attend a Child Advocates fundraiser (includes the Pull for Kids Classic or the Angels of Hope Luncheon)

• Cost - $750 (or three-year pledge of $250)

The Friends are responsible for producing one of Houston's most notable events of the holiday social season - the Angels of Hope Luncheon and Fashion Presentation by Neiman Marcus. The elite group of individuals who have chaired a Friends of Child Advocates fundraising event such as the Luncheon are known as the Friends Directors at Large. The Friends also put on their volunteer hats for annual events like the Holiday Party and Childspree, which allows the children served by Child Advocates to receive new school clothing each Fall.

Governed by a small group of members known as the Governance Council, the Friends host biannual membership socials and encourage the participation of individuals across the Houston community who want to make an impact in the lives of abused children.
