What is your role with the Friends? I serve as a member of the fundraising committee within the Friends.

What's life like outside of Child Advocates? Outside of Child Advocate activities, I attend school at University of Houston - Clear Lake, obtaining a graduate degree in Sociology. I also work full-time at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Tell us something unique about yourself that others may not know: I enjoy practicing yoga and would like to take up adventure traveling as a hobby.

How I became involved with Child Advocates: Working in the medical field and studying Sociology has made me very aware of the social issues that exist in our society today. I want to do my part to address some of these issues by serving disadvantaged and abused children. While researching on the Internet I came across the Child Advocates web site and after attending an orientation, I knew I wanted to volunteer and Friends was a perfect match for me. Friends allows me to volunteer and help raise money for abused children.

The highlight of my experience as member of the Friends: The highlight of my involvement was the recent Pull for Kids event. It was great to see the community come together to raise money for Child Advocates and the children who need it. The event was successful and participating was delightful and rewarding.
