What is your role with the Friends? I've worked with just about every committee but my largest roles have been chairing the gala in 1993, being the honoree for the 1998 Angels of Hope Luncheon and co-chairing the Luncheon in 2005 with my good friend Yvonne Cormier. I've also participated in the Holiday Party for the kids, the special needs program, the Pull for Kids event and the Houston Children's Festival.

What's life like outside of Child Advocates? Full of family, friends, and hobbies with the occasional "special event" chairmanship thrown in to keep things interesting! I also sit on several other Boards

Tell us something unique about yourself that others may not know: University of Texas was NOT my first choice, but it's where my father wanted me to go. I'd say I've been fully converted!

How I became involved with Child Advocates: Marty Braniff asked me to chair the CAI gala in 1992, but I was doing the Zoo Ball so she let me "wait" until the next year. I did join the friends in 1991 and then helped Kerry Jo Humphries in a smaller role as a vice-chair in 1992.

The highlight of my experience as member of the Friends: Raising more and more money every year to help more abused and neglected children in this community. It's amazing how much the budget has grown in the 15+ years I've been involved with CAI.
