Deadline Movie Premiere
Benefiting Child Advocates, Inc.
The Houston Premiere of Deadline, the new movie starring Steve Talley and Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, is Friday, March 2nd. Hosted by The Houston Chronicle, the premiere will benefit Child Advocates, Inc.
“The Houston Chronicle is proud to partner with Child Advocates, Inc., the beneficiary of the Houston premiere of the movie Deadline. Inspired by a true story, the movie deals with a newspaper investigation into an unsolved murder of a black teenager,” said Jack Sweeney, Houston Chronicle Chairman. “Child Advocates, Inc. plays out a similar story every day in Houston by mobilizing court appointed volunteers to speak up for abused children.” The red carpet arrivals begin at 6:00 with the Deadline premiere at 7:00. A Q&A with cast members and the Charlotte reporter who lived and wrote the story Mark Ethridge will follow the premiere.
Child Advocates, Inc. mobilizes court appointed volunteers to break the vicious cycle of child abuse. We speak up for abused children who are lost in the system and guide them into safe environments where they can thrive.
“In an ideal world, stories like these wouldn’t have to be told. But the reality is we live in a world where injustices occur and children are abused by the people who are supposed to love and protect them,” Child Advocates, Inc. CEO Sonya Galvan said. “By partnering with the Houston Chronicle in the premier of Deadline, we are hoping to raise more awareness about our mission to break the cycle of child abuse in our community.”
