Volunteer with Child Advocates

Court Appointed Special Advocates

In just four easy steps, you can become a champion, joining the ranks of 800+ active volunteers who provide critical advocacy for child victims of life-threatening abuse, neglect or abandonment.

  1. STEP ONE: Register for Online Orientation
Register to view the recorded orientation. You will get all of the information you need to get on your way to making a difference for an abused child.
  2. STEP TWO: Watch Our Online Orientation Video

After you register, we will send you a link to the recorded orientation session that you can watch at the time that works best for you.  You’ll be introduced to our program and find out the requirements for becoming an advocate volunteer. Then, let us know when you have completed the Orientation Video. All the instructions are in the Orientation email.

  3. STEP THREE: Complete the Advocate Application
Once you let us know you are ready to move forward with the advocate volunteer role, you will receive two forms to complete; the volunteer application and volunteer background check. Those must be completed in their entirety to attend Advocacy University.

  4. STEP FOUR: Attend and Graduate from Advocacy University
Advocacy University, our 30-hour training course, is offered several times each year and will prepare you for this incredible volunteer experience. *You must watch the online orientation session prior to beginning Advocacy University and submit the required forms.
