From Foster Care to Graduation: Celebrating their Journeys

Graduating from high school is a major milestone for any young person—but it holds even deeper meaning for children who have spent time in foster care.

Growing up, these children endured severe abuse or neglect and often faced challenges to meet their basic needs. Even after entering foster care, their lives lacked stability, and their futures often looked uncertain. But, with the unwavering support and encouragement of their advocates, their outlook on life and their potential has been transformed.

We are incredibly proud of these graduates and the tremendous obstacles they have overcome!

graduate-blog-image Damian graduated from Klein High School! His advocate, Daron, was very proud to attend his graduation ceremony. Damian was in foster care for over 14 years. He lived in various placements throughout Texas during that time and attended 17 different schools. There were a number of ups and downs, but his advocate was there to encourage him along the way.
graduate-blog-image-1 Camajae graduated from Waltrip High School! His advocate, Kalsey, was overjoyed to witness this accomplishment. Camajae received a special award during the graduation ceremony for excellence in character, academic achievement, leadership and service. He was one of five kids chosen out of his class of 400. In the fall, Camajae will be attending Texas State University.
graduate-blog-image-2 Daniel* graduated from high school! With some encouragement from his advocate, Charelle, Daniel applied for the Unstoppable scholarship. He not only received this, but was also surprised with an "unstoppable angel," who will go with him to Texas A&M Corpus Christi in the fall and buy him everything he needs for his dorm.
