Each contribution - large or small - brings us a step closer to serving more abused children in Houston. Each year about one-third of our contributions come from induvidual donors.
Planned Giving
There are many different ways to support the mission of Child Advocates, but when you plan a gift as part of your overall estate and financial plans, you will allow us to continue to speak up for abused children who are lost in the system for years to come. With your gift, you could also receive substantial tax and financial benefits, and you will be welcomed as a member of the Bernie Powell Legacy Society. Honorarium
Consider honoring the birthdays and anniversaries of your loved ones with a gift to Child Advocates in their name. To make a tribute gift, fill out the information on this page, click 'Continue' and enter the name and address of the person being honored by your gift in the comments field on the next page.
Memoriam
Keep a friend or loved one's giving spirit alive through a donation in their name. In place of flowers, consider giving to Child Advocates in memory of a loved one. Contact us for more information.
Recurring Gifts
Recurring giving provides a steady source of income for Child Advocates, allowing us to help more children. Setting up a monthly, quarterly or annual gift is an easy and convenient way to make a difference all year long. You can set up an automatic donation in one of two ways:
Matching Gifts
Many employers have matching gifts programs - does yours? Employers will often match any monetary gift an employee makes or make a monetary donation for each volunteer hour the employee gives to the community. See if your company matches.
Stock Transfers
Consider donating appreciated securities (stocks, bonds or mutual funds you've held for more than one year) to Child Advocates. By doing so, you may be able to reduce or avoid capital gains taxes and receive a federal income tax charitable deduction. Fill out a stock transfer form (pdf)
Memberships
Child Advocates offers membership in two important volunteer groups dedicated to furthering our mission.
