All-In: 2026 Pull for Kids Classic

Houston-area supporters gathered on September 26th for the 34th Annual Pull for Kids Classic, Child Advocates' signature fundraising event benefiting children who have experienced abuse and neglect, raising more than $650,000 to provide court-appointed advocacy for foster children in Harris County. 

The annual Pull for Kids Classic brought together hundreds of community leaders, corporate partners, volunteers, and supporters committed to ensuring every child has a voice and a champion during one of the most difficult times in their life. 

The event began with a morning sporting clays tournament at American Shooting Centers before culminating in a casino-themed evening celebration at Bayou City Event Center. Guests participated in auctions, raffles, and the organization's Sponsor a Child appeal while learning more about the lasting impact advocacy has on the lives of vulnerable children. 

A highlight of the evening was a powerful volunteer story demonstrating how advocacy can change the trajectory of a child's life. The program underscored the importance of ensuring children facing abuse and neglect have an advocate by their side to help them find safety, stability, and hope. 

"Every child deserves someone who will stand up for their best interests and remind them they matter," said Sonya Galvan, CEO. "The generosity of our Pull for Kids supporters makes that possible. Because of this community, more children will have a dedicated advocate walking alongside them as they navigate incredibly challenging circumstances.” 

Funds raised through the event will directly support the recruitment, training, and supervision of Child Advocates volunteers, who serve as powerful advocates for children navigating the child welfare system. Through their dedication, children receive consistent support, representation, and guidance as critical decisions are made about their safety, well-being, and future. 

Child Advocates extends its gratitude to event chairs Taylor and Nellis Willhite, honorees Cinda and Jeff Lack, sponsors, volunteers, and donors whose generosity helped make the event a success. Their support ensures that more children in Harris County have access to the advocacy and resources they need to thrive.
