This summer, Child Advocates was honored to welcome supporters, community leaders, and new friends to our 2026 Summer Luncheon. The gathering provided an opportunity to connect with individuals who share a commitment to improving the lives of children who have experienced abuse and neglect, while highlighting the critical role our community plays in helping children heal and thrive.
The room was filled with both longtime champions of our mission and guests who were learning about Child Advocates for the first time. Together, attendees heard stories of hope, resilience and transformation made possible through the dedication of volunteers, donors and advocates who stand alongside children when they need support most.
One of the most powerful moments of the luncheon came from court-appointed advocate Karoline Walker, who reminded attendees of the profound impact a caring adult can have in a child's life.
"Every child is one caring adult away from living a happier and better life."
Her words captured the heart of Child Advocates' mission. Every day, court-appointed advocates provide consistency, encouragement and a voice for children navigating the foster care and child welfare systems. Through their commitment, children gain an advocate who helps ensure their needs are heard and their best interests are represented.
The luncheon also served as a reminder that there are many meaningful ways to make a difference. Whether through volunteer service, financial support, event participation or simply sharing our mission with others, each person has the ability to help create brighter futures for children in our community.
As we reflect on this special gathering, we are deeply grateful for everyone who attended and helped make the event a success. Your support enables Child Advocates to continue recruiting, training and supporting volunteers who advocate for children who need them most.
If you are inspired by the work we do, we invite you to take the next step in supporting children in our community:
Become a court-appointed advocate and provide life-changing support to a child in need.
Become a monthly donor to help sustain our work year-round.
Support the Pull for Kids Classic and other fundraising events that advance our mission.
Spread the word by sharing Child Advocates' mission with friends, family and colleagues.
Together, we can ensure that more children have the caring adults, resources, and support they need to build brighter futures.
