Child Advocates Receives Grant from the Charity Guild of Catholic Women

Child Advocates is pleased to receive a grant from the Charity Guild of Catholic Women, a Houston-based membership organization that began over 100 years ago. The Charity Guild’s annual grant program has donated approximately $8 million in total to area charitable organizations with the proceeds from their volunteer-run Charity Guild Shop in Montrose.

Each year, the Guild awards grants to agencies in the greater Houston area that serve children in need. This year, the Charity Guild awarded over $760,000 in grants to over 60 organizations. The recipients serve children in the areas of hunger relief, health/well-being, social services, education/enrichment, and arts.

This is the largest gift that Child Advocates has received from the Guild, comprised of over 600 volunteers. The Guild member who learned about Child Advocates from a presentation was compelled by the mission to sponsor the application for this grant.

Child Advocates is grateful to the Charity Guild of Catholic Women for this award of $25,000 presented by Margie Bacile, President.
